So much to say....quit old job.

Some images from the last little while.

oh yah and the new job...

I stopped working for XXXBXXXs.com as the QA Lab manager lackie. I am now the Backstagetechnologies.ca QA Lab Lackie. I was not happy at the old job. "Place RANT HERE". I've been uninspired and uninterested in that job for a couple of years. Now that I've quite, I've started to read a number of books (Cool Time, and Joel on Software) which have got me fired up and interested again. These books point out some things that I could not put my finger on.

My reviews always were the same abe ###: highly technically compotent, works well with others, "time management issues"
I see this as a symptom of lazyness on the part of my managers in that the entire mesurable amount of their effors to help me with this ammounted to stating it in each perfomance review followed by shrugging their shouldres. 'Cool Time' has many good ideas on how to deal with problems and various symptoms. I always maintain that I was good at getting things done when asked. I was also an excellent team player.

I just didn't see any future there. Not 2 year plan, no vission, just lame, half-assed schleping, doing the minimum necessarry to get by.

The new job should be fun. At least i'm snapping out of my work depression. I feel a bit interested again. I'm hoping to contribute. I'm also learning about Technical Analysis of the stock market. I feel like i'm finally using my brain. It feels good to be learning again.

The Picture you ask (ax)? A party on the 23'rd, Buchard gardens with my girl friend and her father pri-easter, the drive home after the party (6AM Sunday Mornning) and ...I don't remember what the other pic was of.

I have some pics of friends but I don't know how they'd feel about me posting their image on the web.

Fun with RSS

Did a little reading and learned about RSS. Added a whole bunch of feeds for all the fings I like, want to know about,...+ friend's blogs.

Work is going ok. Haven't been happy here for years. I feel like i'm under used. A Change will be good. Hope to get into more development...some testing...what ever helps to write useful systems.

Went for a hard run last night:
  • core workout
  • 10 minutes warm-up
  • 10 X
  • 2 minutes fast

  • 2 minutes slow
  • 10 minutes cool-down

It nearly KILLED me!!!

It is a sunny day.

I liked this quote sent to me from a friend:

"Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first place. Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you are, by definition, not smart enough to debug it."

- Brian W. Kernighan

Sketchie

I've been making an effort to sketch. I'm not judging myslef...I just do it. Some of them I'm happy with. Regardless I get enjoyment out of doing it. I wish I had more time to do it. I do it when I'm waiting for something...like when doing laundry.
